Willis Barnstone

Willis Barnstone is the author of seventy books. Volumes include Poetics of Translation (Yale, 1995), The Gnostic Bible (Shambhala, 2003), Life Watch (BOA, 2003), and Stickball on 88th Street (Red Hen Press, 2011). His book Poets of the Bible: from Solomon's Song of Songs to John Revelation is forthcoming from W.W. Norton in June 2017. A Guggenheim fellow, he has received the NEA, NEH, Emily Dickinson Award of the PSA, Auden Award of NY Council on the Arts, Midland Authors Award, and four Pulitzer nominations. Former O’Connor Professor of Greek at Colgate University, he is currently Distinguished Professor of Comparative Literature at Indiana University.
