Epiphany

The announcer for the opposition
is so one-sided in his commentary
so unabashedly partisan
that I dash off a pissed-off post
likening him to the Yankees’s Phil Rizzuto
but without Phil’s endearing traits
that made him perfect for the role
of Private Maggio in From Here to Eternity.
But I do not post the pissed-off post
when I learn the guy went through
an infernal medical ordeal.
Instead, I decide to develop the conceit
that Frank Sinatra played shortstop
for the World Champion Yankees.
