Brian Doyle

Brian Doyle (1956–2017) was the editor of Portland Magazine at the University of Portland, “the finest spiritual magazine in America,” according to Annie Dillard. He was the author of many books of essays, “proems,” and fiction, among them the novels Mink River (Oregon State University Press, 2010), The Plover (Thomas Dunne Books, 2014), and Martin Marten (Thomas Dunne Books, 2015), and was the recipient of the American Academy of Arts and Letters Award in Literature and three Pushcart Prizes.
