Patricia Jabbeh Wesley

Patricia Jabbeh Wesley, a Liberian civil war survivor, is the author of five books of poetry, When the Wanderers Come Home, Where the Road Turns, The River is Rising, Becoming Ebony, and Before the Palm Could Bloom: Poems of Africa. She is also the author of a children’s book, In Monrovia, the River Visits the Sea. Her poems or memoir articles have been published in Transition, Harvard Divinity Review, Crab Orchard Review, New Orleans Review, Black Renaissance Noire, among others, and her work has been translated in Italian, Spanish, and Finnish. She is Associate Professor of English, Creative Writing, and African Literature at Penn State University’s Altoona campus.
