Paulette Jiles

This biography was submitted to Harvard Review in 2011. Paulette Jiles passed away on July 8, 2025. Paulette Jiles was raised in various small towns in Missouri, attended three different high schools, graduated from the University of Missouri (KC) with a degree in Romance languages. She spent several years in the Canadian sub-arctic working in remote northern radio. She married Jim Johnson and moved to Texas. She now lives on a small ranch outside of San Antonio Texas and writes.
