Robert Lowell

Robert Lowell (1917-1977) was an American poet. He was the sixth Poet Laureate Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress from 1947-1948, and won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1947 and 1974, among other awards and recognitions. His book Life Studies (1959) won the 1960 National Book Award. He taught at the Iowa Writers' Workshop at the University of Iowa, Boston University, Harvard, and a number of other universities.
